Passed annual fitness test [Aug. 19th, 2006|10:29 pm]
[Tags|]

I'm quite sore today because I had my annual Air Force fitness test yesterday morning. It consisted of waist measurement, pushups, situps, and a 1.5 mile run. I passed with a score of 81.65, slightly higher than last year. I ran the mile and a half nine seconds slower than last year.

Back home [Aug. 9th, 2006|06:16 am]
[Current Location |Colorado Springs, Colorado]

Arrive back in Colorado Springs at dawn. Package from Raina with treasure from Japan was waiting. :P Grass needs to be cut. Guess there was rain while I was away.

On the road again [Aug. 7th, 2006|05:24 pm]
[Current Location |Madison, Mississippi]
[music |LazyTown - Cooking by the Book]

I'm about to leave my parents' house in Madison, Mississippi for Colorado Springs. A bit late in the day, but I woke up at 2pm. I had to set up my laptop to rip the LazyTown soundtrack I bought at Wal-Mart last night to FLAC and MP3. Foobar2000 has CD ripping abilities now. Wal-Mart is selling Midnight Chocolate Milk from Promise Land Dairy again, but in plastic instead of glass.

gas, progress [Jul. 30th, 2006|02:34 pm]
It cost $147.62 in gas to drive from Colorado Springs to Jackson.

I'm halfway through my two week 7-level school at Keesler AFB.

Traveling [Jul. 19th, 2006|02:07 am]
[Current Location |donley county, texas,]

I'm using free wifi at a Texas rest stop. I left Colorado Springs a day late, 12 noon Tuesday instead of Monday. Four hours later I was on top of a mountain in New Mexico. I was driving across Johnson Mesa and saw a nice hill. It didn't look that far to the summit. So I parked on the side of the road and jogged up Towndrow Peak (8624 feet). Photos at flickr.

Stock [Jun. 19th, 2006|11:46 pm]
[music |Stumps duh Clown - I miss my soul...Bob]

I purchased 1000 shares of MSFT for 21.87 last week. It is at a multi-year low. Vista and Office coming out, Gates leaving... I still hate Microsoft, but I'm not above making money on their stock.

package (books, clothes) [Apr. 5th, 2006|06:18 pm]
Josh sent me a package with some clothes I asked for and 29 science fiction paperback books he had collected earlier for deployed people. They all look really good, Hugo and Nebula winners.

A drive can be nice [Apr. 5th, 2006|03:28 pm]
I drove for the first time in about a month. I took a Ford Ranger over to Comm Town. It is a nice sunny day.

I walk five minutes to work and five minutes back home to my tent. We should be moving living spaces soon, and then I'll probably have to take a bus every day to work since I don't think my office is moving anytime soon.

music [Apr. 1st, 2006|11:26 pm]
Three songs I have in heavy rotation are by Hello! Project artists:

* Singapore Transit by Goto Maki
* I know by Matsuura Aya
* Namida no Taiyou by Melon Kinenbi

Speaking of jpop, Cult of Pop is a good jpop blog. Looks like Ayaya is going to be doing some cool and fun drama work.

Also, I'm ordering Mika's first solo CD.

I told my dad to send me three or four more also.

More rain [Feb. 24th, 2006|11:58 pm]
An inch of rain recently. And this ground doesn't really absorb water. It is more like a fine powder than sand. Luckily my tent doesn't leak, but the power was out in the latrine this morning.

Misc [Feb. 22nd, 2006|09:03 pm]
[music |Melon Kinenbi - Namida no Taiyou]

A wiki on the intranet of a base where 80% of the population changes every four months would be helpful.

Importing Wikipedia content into a wiki on SIPRNet. I stay at work too late editing it.

It rained (in the desert) just a little yesterday. We could get more soon.
